Black Dragon is a truly wicked Far East instrumental ska. It sounds like it comes from the same session as "Jet 707" which was recorded in 1964 and released on the Blue Beat label in the UK. However, Black Dragon was left unreleased in Prince Buster's vaults until officially issued on a very limited pressing by Rock A Shacka (Drum & Bass) in Japan in 2008.
Islam is a brilliant, hybrid Afro-folk-ska tune featuring vocals from Prince Buster. The lyrics have a "Back to Africa" theme and the tune features powerful militant drumming. It was originally released in the UK on the Blue Beat label in 1965 and is now incredibly rare.
Both tunes are absolute dancefloor favourites. This single should be in the collection of every ska collector and selector.
Unsurprisingly, this original pressing from Rock A Shacka sold out immediately and is now very sought after. People even appear to be selling blank bootlegs, so don't be fooled!
