This is an early SST Records pressing of Damaged, Black Flag’s full-length debut and a cornerstone release of American hardcore punk. Recorded during a period of legal conflict and internal upheaval, the album captures the band at their most raw and confrontational, pairing Henry Rollins’ unfiltered vocals with Greg Ginn’s abrasive guitar work.

Tracks like “Rise Above,” “Six Pack,” and “Depression” helped define the sound and attitude of early ’80s hardcore, while the fractured pacing and aggressive tone reflect the chaos surrounding the album’s original release.

This copy features the 1984 Original light blue SST labels (no unicorn), Jacket and the original inner sleeve. Deadwax contains the distinctive etched slogans that mark early SST pressings from the immediate post–unicorn label era. The jacket is still in its original opened shrink, a rarely preserved detail on early SST titles.
