Description
This is the incredibly rare 1981 FIRST PRESSING of Black Flag's classic debut LP on Unicorn/SST Records. Has the infamous "As a Parent, I Found It an Anti-Parent Record" sticker on the back, covering up distributor MCA Records' logo. (The quote is by an MCA exec who was appalled after hearing the record and withdrew their support. The band themselves had to go to the pressing plant and put these stickers on the record!) Only the very first pressing has these as the later editions were wiped of the MCA logo. Also has the blue label, unique to the first pressing, other editions were green.
This record is from my personal collection, purchased in 1981. The record itself is G-VG. No scratches or marks (I take care of my LPs), but please note this is a heavily played record as it was always a favorite, so there is some surface noise (not bad). At least till the band's cacophony starts!
The cover has some ring wear, and there are my small initials on the back and a light name stamp on the label (back then I had some "friends" I couldn't completely, um...trust. Plus I never thought I'd sell this, but it's hard times for this old punk). All this can be clearly seen in the photos, so no whining!
Also, the cover is the first of three versions of the famous photo: it is very high-contrast color, very dark. Later editions lightened up the contrast, and finally it was changed to a B&W version.
After the auction, please pay promptly with PayPal only. I will ship promptly!
Good luck!
NOTE - This is the second time I've listed this. If it doesn't sell this time I'm gonna take it as a sign I'm meant to keep it and will NOT re-list again! So jump on it if you want it.
Cheers, Peter
