Black Sabbath – Paranoid   

Black Sabbath were an English rock band, formed in Birmingham in 1968, by guitarist and main songwriter Tony Iommi, drummer Bill Ward, bassist and main lyricist Geezer Butler and singer Ozzy Osbourne. Black Sabbath are often cited as pioneers of heavy metal music. The band helped define the genre with releases such as Black Sabbath (1970), Paranoid (1970), and Master of Reality (1971). The band had multiple line-up changes, with Iommi being the only constant member throughout its history.
This copy has only been graded as ‘fair’/’good’ as it has quite a few marks. It does play through ok, but with some clicks, pops and crackle here and there and a couple of small skips. As this is a collectable album I have decided to auction it as a ‘collection filler’ for someone. Do not expect it to look or play great!!! Saying all that it’s still a good listen, especially side two. See description below.

The album is on Vertigo Records, 6360 011. Matrix side one: 6360011 1Y//1 420 12 9 (stamped). Matrix side two: 6360011 2Y//1 420 11 9 (stamped).
Released in 1970. UK pressing. Stereo.
Condition: (as Record Collector’s grading system)
Vinyl side 1: fair (has quite a few marks and plays with some clicks/pops and a bit of background crackle here and there [worst at the start of the side] and has a couple of small skips on track one,).
Vinyl side 2: good (has quite a few marks and plays with the odd click/pop and some light background crackle here and there).
Cover (unlaminated, gatefold): good (a fair bit of corner, edge and spine wear, rubbing front and back, a few light creases/indents, name written inside. No tears or splits though).
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
