Description

BLACK SABBATH - PARANOID, Vertigo 6360011, UK 1970 First Edition. Large Swirl

There is a very bad looking scratch (roughly 3cm long) that goes with the grain of the record rather than across the track marks. In our experience these kind of scratches are more likely to make the record stick. (Played at high volume on our humble Phillips fp140.) However play is not too badly affected. At this point, the start of Paranoid we hear a loud crunch and surface noise continues through the track. However it is still very much listenable and enjoyment not completely effected. 

This heavy surface noise continues into the rest of the first side. The noise is never very intrusive but is definitely audible throughout quiet moments and at some points through the heavier parts. 


Side B plays very well with only very occasional non-intrusive light surface noise. 
Overall Plays RRPG Good. With some parts of the first side verging on Fair yet the entire second side being VG.  Visually, the record looks as you would expect from the sound. With too many scuffs and surface marks to actually count yet the one listed across the second track is the only one that could be felt.
Record has been cleaned on a Project VCS cleaning machine.  


Sleeve: Corners have been worn a bit. Small marks caused by rub wear on the front of the cover (can be seen in the photo). Spine and all corners are scuffed yet not so badly that the information isn't clear. A dozen or so very small (millimetre by millimetre) scuff marks on front of sleeve with one particularly bad patch the top right hand corner 2 cm from the title (picture 9).  Inner: Comes with original inner, slightly crumpled (picture 6.) Overall Good. 
£250 in the RRPG yet has sold for up to £900 on eBay.
