UK FIRST PRESSING ON NEMS LABEL (very first pressings are on Vertigo) VINYL LP IN LAMINATED GATEFOLD SLEEVE WITH ORIGINAL WHITE INNER SLEEVE.
These early Sabbath albums are not, as such, 'rare', after all, they sold millions of copies in ever-worse pressings down the years - but what is rare are copies that have not been played to death with tatty sleeves - this copy is a near pristine first pressing on NEMS, and will satisfy all but a perfectionist. The sound of this album is utterly amazing - forget all the 'remastered from original tapes' (which they seldom are - that's just record company marketing folks) overly compressed/no bottom end/false upper-mids CD re-issues, only these original pressings convey the true, powerful majesty of the original recorded sound - if you want to hear your favourite music recorded before the mid-1980s as it should be heard, buy get yourself a decent hi fi set up paying particular attention to the best turntable/stylus you can afford, buy a VPI record cleaning machine and Disc Doctor fluids so you can maintain your valuable LPs in top condition, clean your stylus and disc before each play, use a quality carbon fiber brush across the disc before you place the stylus down, and then sit back for twenty minutes a side and be utterly stunned at how good properly pressed first pressings sound compared to anything else - finally, you will be listening to the 'real' thing.
