Description
Black Sabbath + 1970 UK press + Vertigo large swirl label = very collectable. This is a 1970 UK press, lots of scratches – music sounds fine but plays with background surface noise.
This listed record is not the very 1st 1970 UK press because the very 1st press included inside the cover the management credits of ''Management / Jim Simpson, Big Bear, Birmingham''.
There are three 1970 UK pressings without these management credits and therefore this listed record is one of these three 1970 pressings. It has no break in between the tracks "Hand of Doom" and "Rat Salad" - i.e. looks as though there are only three tracks on the B side of the record when there are actually four. Runouts A-side: 6360011 1Y//2?420 12 1 and B-side: 6360011 2Y//1?420 12 23 Last photo with red pen shows where Management credits would be if this listed album was a 1970 1st press/issue.
Vinyl Grade: VG, heaps of long light scratches and marks, nothing deep/bad but so many that surface noise would be expected.
Sound Quality: VG, constant light background surface noise, fairly noticeable but does not detract from the music except on track 3 of side 1 which has quite music and its more noticeable, overall it does not overpower the great music that can be played loud and enjoyed, no clicks/pops, fully play tested to describe.
Cover: damaged gatefold matt cover, not flat, has ripples from water damage, edges are good apart from wear on bottom, inside gatefold and inner sleeve have water damage marks.
Records graded directly under very bright table light for the visual grade. Sound quality checked by playing to ensure that visual grade and sound quality are consistent.
Mint M and Near Mint NM: Looks perfect as new. N and NM is only appropriate for new reissue records and not for vintage vinyl that has been played, regardless of how perfect it may look.
Excellent Plus +EX: Lovely gloss, no visible scratches, scuffs or marks. Has been played but has been handled well and still in great condition. (highest grade that I use for vintage vinyl)
Excellent EX: Lovely gloss, shows some slight signs of wear, including light trace/hairlines from the inner sleeve, light scuffs or very light marks that you would not expect to hear as surface noise.
Very Good Plus +VG: Shows a few more very light marks than is allowable for EX so not quite EX. These signs of use would be expected to cause some light surface noise but not to detract from the music.
Very Good VG: Shows light scratches and marks and some that you would expect to cause surface noise, especially in soft passages, between tracks and during a song?s intro and ending but not so much as to overpower the music which can still be enjoyed.
Very Good Minus -VG: Shows significant wear and marks that you would expect to cause noticeable surface noise that detracts from the music.
Good G: In the record world, 'Good' is not good! From here on down (Fair, Poor), we're talking about beat-up records lacking much of the original gloss and with many scratches and marks that you would expect to cause very noticeable surface noise and clicks/pops that seriously detract from enjoyment of the music.
Postage: I package very very well and only charge the actual Aust Post cost. International post currently not available because of the delays with sending parcels overseas.
