Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 UK albums that I have collected over a period of more than 45 years! 1st UK pressing of Black Sabbath's "We Sold Our Soul To Rock 'N' Roll" double lp album set on the original NEMS labels. Wow! What a great sounding copy to have! This is the 2nd issue released in the UK in 1979 with the laminated front gatefold cover. This album was purchased from new and originally only ever played to record to tape and then stored in a case with the vinyls separated from the cover and sleeve for protection. This is how I have always stored my records! Features mega earliest -A1,B1 & -C1,D1 Matrix endings Together with very thick and heavy vinyl (only 1st Uk pressings) This album is complete with the original 2nd issue laminatred Clout & Baker gatefold cover in at least excellent condition in my opinion complete with the original firmly attached color booklet! WOW! the audio is truly stunning through out! The audio is graded at Near Mint in my opinion! (Minor interference only noted below in description, common with these late 70s pressings) Certainly the best sounding copy that I have heard astoundingly clear a vibrant very very rare like this! No loud nasty constant clicks or pops! So rich and vibrant throughout! Looks and sounds like it has only ever been played a handful of times ever! (note: isolated interference noted, common on these late 70s pressings, please read description below) This is complete with the original plain white record sleeves in superb condition. Rarely seen complete in this top condition! Read the full full description below!

We Sold Our Soul for Rock 'n' Roll is a compilation album by Black Sabbath.
Originally released on 1 December 1975 in the UK and then on 3 February 1976 in the U.S.
When Black Sabbath signed with NEMS, the label which would release their 1975 album Sabotage in the UK, NEMS acquired the band's back catalogue and wasted little time compiling this release.
Authorized without the band's awareness by their previous manager, Patrick Meehan, the band would make no money whatsoever from the release.
Although the band had six studio albums to its name at this point, this compilation drew heavily on the first four albums: this would also be a feature of most of the Osbourne-era compilations later released.
The original UK gatefold album, with a matte finish, and laminated gatefold covers had centre pages featuring shots of the band but this was omitted on later reissues, which came in a glossy-finish but not laminated sleeve.
Additionally, the original record retained Geezer Butler's bass solo before "N.I.B.", but this would be edited from later issues.
Some U.S. copies of the LP do not actually include "Wicked World" on the label or on the record itself, though it does appear on the cover. In the UK, "Wicked World" had been only a B-side and was relatively obscure.
Despite the album being an official release, Iommi has been quoted as saying that the first time the band knew of it was when asked to autograph copies which fans presented after concerts.
It was certified Silver in the UK by the BPI on 1 October 1976.
In the US the RIAA certified the album as Gold on 7 February 1980, Platinum on 13 May 1986 and 2x Multi-Platinum (generally known as 'Double Platinum' outside the offices of the RIAA) on 16 March 2000.

The Matrix
Side 1 "NELD 101-A-1" (Hand Etched) Side 2 "NELD 101-B-1" (Hand Etched) Side 3 "NELD 101-C-1" (Hand Etched) Side 4 "NELD 101-D-1" (Hand Etched)
The labels
The original NEMS labels are in awesome condition! (These looks superb in my opinion)! Amaizingly I can just see barely very feint spider marks/trails only, even when angled to the light and of coarse little if (no) spindle ware the hole is perfectly round. This has only ever been played a handful of times only from new when I initially purchased it and one time to play grade for this listing. Impossible to find like this! very very collectable in this condition!
The vinyls
The vinyls are absolutely superb! On initial visual inspection these looks like new and still retains their original sheen from new! (please note these vinyls have only ever been played a few times by me personally and I originally played this to record to tape! These have been stored in a case with the vinyl separated from the sleeves and cover to prevent ring ware and damage. This is how I have always stored my records, and of course I played this again to play grade at very loud volume on a top system! In fact even when I look at the playing surface angled to a strong light I find it hard notice any real surface marks or scratches. Any marks that could possible be seen when angled in strong light would be light whyspy surface sleeve removal type only. Please note: It is common on these late 70s vinyls to have minor imperfections due to the manufacturing process during this period. Please allow for this.
The Audio Quality
I have played all four sides through track for track prior to listing at very very loud volume on a top system! WOW! what a great sounding album!, the moment the needle hits the playing surface it is obvious these vinyls have barely ever been played at all! The audio quality is as you would expect when purchased new, superbe, TOP, TOP, TOP! cristal clear and extremely vibrant through out in fact this plays truly superb. This is without a dought the best copy that I have ever heard! This played through superb unbelievable audio seperation, that I haven't heard like this before and stunning bassey feel throughout! One of the most vibrant sounding audio copies that I have heard and early pressing makes all the difference! Even in between tracks this was lovely and quiet. The vibrancy of the audio on this pressing in my opinion is as good as it gets! Points to note: isolated static ticks/pop are commonly heard on these late 70s pressings and allowances must be made for this. It is noted that I heard light static scuff noise at the intro to side one first track due to a tiny pressing imperfewction but nothing that spoilt the overall enjoyment in my opinion. isolated tick or ticks were heard but again very common. importantly there were no loud constant clicks or pops heard. I would class myself as highly critical and this is a truly exceptional sounding copy by this awesome rock band ''Black Sabbath'' and so hard to find tlike this! Please check my completed listings of records that i have sold of this quality and you will see that i normally get it right! I would grade the audio near as mint!
Please note! That i always make this disclaimer! Allowances must be made for these late seventies pressings. Please allow for the odd isolated static/ /tick or minor pressing imperfections that may be heard in quiet places or in between tracks, certainly not consistent throughout the audio. This is a genuine 41 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 41 year old system! Genuinly only ever played a handful of times ever!
Points to note! This has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 40 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves from laying dormant causes static crackle\ticks! A constant clean before each play is recommended ! This would reduce any static and enhance the audio quality!
The Record Sleeves
These are the original plain white paper die cut record sleeves, clean and straight. No splits or tears, light creasing/fading with age only
The Cover
The original 2nd issue laminated front Clout & Baker gatefold cover. (NO BARCODE) Super glossy in apearence. There are (no) edge splits or tears. Note: creases are noted on the front. (see photos) The spine is generally lovely and square A truly superbe example rarely seen like this.! No nasty rubbing or ring wear is minor in my opinion, just very light only as previously mentioned. The rear is exceptionally clean and being primarily black this is very common if not almost impossible to find better originals) Any imperfections/indents/rubbing edge creases, are not really noticed unless looked for in my opinion. Must be Excellent in my opinion.
A Vinyl audio archive copy The audio is to die for in my opinion!
