Description

Hi, my name is Brian and I have been collecting vinyl for many years. My main interest has been PROGRESSIVE especially the VERTIGO SWIRL/SPIRAL LABEL, reputed to be the most collectable label in the world?

I have finally finished my SWIRL collection of over 160 albums of which most are UK pressings, and now I am going to SELL them ( I must be mad ). I have been quite fussy about the QUALITY, CONDITION and they must be the VERY FIRST PRESSINGS. The latter has been the hardest to decipher and has had me buying and selling many copies of the same album to achieve this, and I almost have with these collectable gems.

I am not and have never been a 'dealer' by profession, but I have always given honest descriptions and lots of clear photo's of any items I have sold. I do know how disappointing it is when you open that package and the item has been over sold with expressions such as "AWESOME" etc when the item is only in EX- condition or worse. If you are in anyway disappointed with an item from me you are most welcome to return it with a FULL REFUND, providing it is an honest and just mistake by myself as I believe in my descriptions.

COLLECTING SWIRL ALBUMS AND ESPECIALLY FINDING CORRECT VERY FIRST PRESSINGS CAN BE REAL MINE FIELD. SO I HAVE DECIDED TO LIST 4 DIFFERENT RELEASES OF PARANOID BEFORE THEY CHANGED FROM VERTIGO.

THE SECCOND PRESS...

1. This sleeve was presented both LAMINATED and UN-LAMINATED. The Management/Jim Simpson, BigBear, Birmingham line of information has now been removed please see the photo provided below.

Jim Simpson was Black Sabbaths manager, but just as Paranoid was released they sacked him. It was too late to withdraw the first batch of sleeves but was quickley corrected for the next sleeve print.

2. The B-side label should have the larger swirl above the center hole and the word VERTIGO at the bottom of the label. There is no Philips' legend at the base of the label as that was only on the first 6 releases on the swirl label.

3. Although there is no difference in the mix of the various pressings (that I know of), on the original very first press visually there is no seperation between tracks 2 and 3 on side B. This was also corrected for this second press run.

IF ANY OF THE ABOVE INFORMATION IS UN CLEAR OR YOU HAVE OTHER INFORMATION PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME.

SO HERE WE GO.......

For sale here is --BLACK SABBATH--PARANOID-- UK ORIGINAL SECOND PRESSING WITH SECOND PRESSING SLEEVE,1970, stereo 6360 011 The 17th of 87 UK pressings on this label. MORE WILL FOLLOW!

SLEEVE.....GATEFOLD and LAMINATED. . It is in WONDERFUL condition showing MINIMALwear. It is a GENUINE VERY FIRST  LAMINATED PRESSING.  It is very flat and square. The colours are very strong and vibrant LIKE NEW. The bottom edge is N/MINT. The top edge is also in N/MINT condition with NO wear. The front is N/MINTwith  NO UNWANTED WRITING, NO STICKER TEARS, NO STICKERS  AND NO STAINING and almost NO surface rub. The rear  is in the same wonderful N/MINT condition with NO RING WEAR. The opening edges  are in lovely condition with no tears and no feathering. The spine shows NO wear and is also N/MINT.  The inside gatefold is in fantastic condition and is clean and bright and SUPERB, N/MINT. Even the very tips of the corners are UN-WORN. This album comes with AN ORIGINAL VERY FIRST PRESSING SWIRL INNER SLEEVE. All in all this is in wonderful condition for a 37 year old sleeve. N/MINT. YOU WOULD FIND IT VERY HARD TO FIND A BETTER COPY THAN THIS ONE.

LABELS.....There is NO unwanted writing, staining, stickers, residue or tears. there are minimal spindle marks. N/MINT

VINYL....Both sides of this fantastic album still have their JUST PRESSED deep black shine. When you hold this album in the very brightest of lights you can see very few very faint surface hair lines which are very light and mostly cased removal and replacement in and out of the inner sleeve, there are no nasty marks or scratches. In normal daylight this album is PRISTINE. Both sides play WITHOUT SCRATCHES, CLICKS OR JUMPS. I have played this album on my very sensitive and revealing LINN SONDEK and the sound is UN-WORN, it is full and crisp there is NO loss of sound quality at all, wonderful sound stage and stereo seperation. There are VERY FEW dust crackles that can be heard only in the quiet parts of the music or between tracks, but a professional clean should sort out most of that. These HEAVY VINYL origional pressings are second to none. This really is a great copy that any collector would be delighted to add to their collection, a real KEEPER .  EX++/EX++very nice!!

THIS IS GETTING VERY HARD TO FIND IN ANY CONDITION. IT IS RARE IN THIS SUPERB CONDITION.

DONT MISS THIS ONE.

THERE CANT BE ANY OTHERS LEFT IN THIS LOVELY CONDITION.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

I prefer payment by paypal, UK bidders may use a personal cheque.

GOOD LUCK bidding! Brian.
