BLIND FAITH – RECORDED ALONG THE U.S. TOUR DELUXE BOX TOUR BOOK BOX SET NOT TMOQ

This  item  came  from  our  personal  collection

Offered for sale is a monster rarity – a limited-edition box set of a Blind Faith live album with a genuine, 32 page, hardcover tour book from the band's 1969 (and only) American tour.

Blind Faith was an early supergroup featuring Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker of Cream, Steve Winwood of Traffic and Rick Grech of Family (and later of Traffic, as well.)  Like many supergroups, they burned brightly but briefly, and they released only a single studio album before breaking up.  They did, however, do a brief tour of the United States in 1969, and at least one of the shows was recorded.

This album, Recorded Along the U.S. Tour, captures one of those concerts, ostensibly recorded at Winterland in San Francisco in August of 1969.  Tracks on this LP include:

Well All Right
Can't Find My Way Home
Had to Cry Today
Crossroads
Presence of the Lord
Means to an End

This LP was originally released as TAKRL 1902, and was available in two editions – a regular LP, and this one, a deluxe boxed set that included the album as well as a genuine hardcover tour book from the U.S. Tour.

THE RECORD

The record is in beautiful, VG++ condition, and likely has been played only a few times.  There are no marks on the vinyl, aside from some very slight scuffs from having been removed from the paper sleeve.  There are a couple of spindle marks on the label.  Please note that the label indicates the artist as Bruce Dillon.

THE COVER

The “cover” is a plain black box, which includes a yellow 12”x12” paper insert with a photo of the band as well as track listings.  The box is M-.  Aside from a couple of minor wrinkles, the insert is in beautiful, M- condition.

The cover has:

No split seams
No ring wear
No cut-out (drill) holes.
No cut-out corners
No saw-marks or indents
No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers)
No wrinkles or creases
No yellowing from aging
No writing
No stamps
No tearing: no chips, dents or nicks on the seams
No peel-off marks
No stains
No mold or mildew spots
No stickers or labels
No water damage
No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or  cuts.
No warping
No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover
No glue traces or wax residue.
No bar codes
No RIAA stamps or stickers.

THE TOUR BOOK

The true appeal of this set is the inclusion of a 32 page hardcover tour program, printed by The Visual Thing.  This is a genuine tour program that was sold at their performances on the 1969 tour.  This book, measuring 12”x12” in size, includes some 275 photos in black and white and in color.  The cover is printed on high-quality, glossy stock and is in M- condition.  These tour books rarely come up for sale; to find one complete with the live LP?  Nearly impossible.

If you're a fan of Eric Clapton, Traffic, or Blind Faith, this album is a must have, as there is relatively little recorded material from this short-lived group.  All in all, this is an exceptionally nice copy of a very rare album, and is, in fact, the only copy of this deluxe edition box set that we have ever seen.
