Incredible songs.   all music gives it 4 stars!!!

Cover: NM-  (see photos)  Gatefold.  NO BARCODE!  This is the RARE UK Import of the cover originally conceived by psychedelic poster artist Stanley Mouse and photographed by rock photographer Bob Seidemann.  This is the most sought after version of this album, not only for it's superior analog audio, but also because it presents the cover as it was originally intended:  as a Gatefold, so the listener can extend the pastoral grass landscape to twice it's size by opening the Gatefold (the original was not a Gatefold). 

In the Gatefold there are also two rare outtakes to the photo session that was eventually used for the cover when the pressure on the record company to withdraw the cover...The stories behind this cover are legion.  For example, on the cover is Mariora Goschen and she says that she was promised a pony from Eric Clapton for appearing on the cover...Come on, Eric!  Give her the pony already!!!   Front, gatefold and back of cover artwork and text are rich, clear and bright.  Seams and spine are solid and clean, with minor wear.  No splits.   No writing.  Spine print is crystal clear.

First or early pressings nearly always have more immediacy, presence and dynamics. The sound staging is wider.  Subtle instrument nuances are better placed with more spacious textures. Balances are firmer in the bottom end with a far-tighter bass. Upper-mid ranges shine without harshness, and the overall depth is more immersive.  Inner details are  clearer.

Blind Faith's first and last album, more than 30 years old and counting, remains one of the jewels of the Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, and Ginger Baker catalogs, despite the crash-and-burn history of the band itself, which scarcely lasted six months. As much a follow-up to Traffic's self-titled second album as it is to Cream's final output, it merges the soulful blues of the former with the heavy riffing and outsized song lengths of the latter for a very compelling sound unique to this band. Not all of it works -- between the virtuoso electric blues of "Had to Cry Today," the acoustic-textured "Can't Find My Way Home," the soaring "Presence of the Lord" (Eric Clapton's one contribution here as a songwriter, and the first great song he ever authored) and "Sea of Joy," the band doesn't do much with the Buddy Holly song "Well All Right"; and Ginger Baker's "Do What You Like" was a little weak to take up 15 minutes of space on an LP that might have been better used for a shorter drum solo and more songs. Unfortunately, the group was never that together as a band and evidently had just the 42 minutes of new music here ready to tour behind.
