BLODWYN PIG
Getting To This

ORIGINAL UK CHRYSALIS (ILPS 9123) FIRST PRESSING (April 1970) OF BLODWYN PIG'S SECOND LP "Getting To This" IN LIGHTLY PLAYED CONDITION DELIVERING SENSATIONAL AUDIO THROUGHOUT WITH NOTHING TO FAULT - GREAT COPY OF THIS SUPERB PIECE OF WORK

BLODWYN PIG WERE FORMED BY MICK ABRAHAMS AFTER LEAVING JETHRO TULL IN 1968 SHORTLY AFTER THE RECORDING OF 'THIS WAS' - REPUTEDLY BECAUSE OF DIFFERENCES WITH IAN ANDERSON ON THE DIRECTION TULL WERE TAKING WITH ABRAHAMS WANTING TO STICK TO THE BANDS ORIGINAL BLUES ROOTS BUT ANDERSON WANTING TO TAKE THE BAND IN A MORE PROGRESSIVE DIRECTION - BUT FOR WHATEVER REASONS ABRAHAMS LEFT TULL, BLODWYN PIG WERE A GREAT OUTFIT AND THIS IS THEIR FINEST RECORD

PRESSED ON QUALITY HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL WITH THE FIRST ISSUE GREEN CHRYSALIS LABELS WHICH CARRY THE ISLAND WHITE i ISLAND LOGO AND THE ISLAND RIM TEXT: "Marketed and distributed by Island Records Basing St London"
FIRST ISSUE CORRECTED MATRIX: ILPS 912(3)2 A
?1 12 11 / ILPS 912(3)2 B?1 11 17 (the stamped '3' in brackets has been crossed out and the correct '2' etched - the mistakenly stamped 9123 is coincidentally the number for Jethro Tull's Benefit LP)
AND THE RECORD IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL MATT GATEFOLD SLEEVE WITH A WIDE SPINE AND FACTORY SEALED LEFT SIDE EDGE
COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL POLY-LINED "PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS..." INNER SLEEVE

Track Listing:

Side 2: San Francisco Sketches: Beach Scape (1:20) - Fisherman's Wharf (2:42) - Telegraph Hill (1:55) - Close The Door, I'm Falling Out Of The Room (2:51) / Worry (3:41) / Toys (3:03) / To Rassman (1:20) / Send Your Son To Die (4:24)

LABELS: The labels are clean, bright and unmarked with only a handful of spindle traces - this copy has seen little play - NEAR MINT
VINYL Visual: The vinyl still retains their original deep glossy sheen with just some light brush marks/hairlines - these have no audio consequence - EXCELLENT
VINYL Audio: Tremendous crystal clear, very sharp and very strong audio reproduction throughout - beautifully produced and engineered with no audio issues of note. On playback at a loud volume there are no scratches, no jumps/sticks, no clicks/pops and hardly any surface noise - the pressing is very clean. The whole LP sounds wonderful and plays to a very high standard with great clarity, no groove-wear and no distortion and is critically graded a very strong EXCELLENT++ for audio - great copy of a superb LP
SLEEVE: The matt gatefold sleeve is in EXCELLENT(+) condition. The white portions of the front have picked up a few light marks over the years (nothing major) and the thick white spine has some discolouration (again, nothing major - all text is clear and bold). The inside is clean and unmarked with neither the join-the-dots puzzle nor the maze puzzle completed. Overall, a very fine example of this easily worn, untreated sleeve
