BLONDIE

“PARALLEL LINES”

MEGARARE and HARD TO FIND original Chrysalis Records very first STEREO press released in Chile in 1979 by Chrysalis Records, produced by Discos Philips (Philips Records), made and distributed by Philips Chilena S.A. (Philips Records), licensed from Chrysalis Records Ltd., USA, with UNIQUE green/black labels, with red Chrysalis logo, catalog number 6307 632, with hand etched matrix numbers 6307-632-A MSM-CD in Side A and 6307-632-B MSM-CD in Side B. It’s interesting to notice that in back cover the sides are identified as “Lado Uno” (Side One) and “Lado Dos” (Side Two) but in labels they are only “A” and “B”, and it’s also interesting to notice that in the deadwax of both sides it’s written the date of pressing, “31-8-79” (August 31th of 1979). Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“PARALLEL LINES” was originally released in USA in 1978 and we didn’t have to wait much because in 1979 this album was released here in Chile and, like so many cases in Chilean issues, we got it with an UNIQUE COVER!!! The cover is made of a very thin full laminated single piece of cardboard folded in de middle with back cover pasted on the flips of front cover. Front and back cover keep strictly the original US artwork, with album title and tracklist written in English only, with full credits for songwriters, publishers and timing of each song. In back cover at the bottom edge is a white strip with the information it’s a Chilean issue. In labels the album title and tracklist are written in English only, with full credits for songwriters and publishers of each song.  An interesting error (?) to notice in this rare press is that song “Will Anything Happen?”, correctly written in back cover is misspelled in label “Will Anything Happen”, with “?” missed, and that publisher of that song, correctly written in label, "Chrysalis Music Ltd.", is misspelled in back cover "CHRISALID Music Ltd."!!! So, here you have the chance to own this great album by Blondie with UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE GREEN CHRYSALIS LABELS and UNIQUE ERRORS!!! GREAT RARITY never seen in eBay!!! WOW!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX or EX+ condition both the front and back cover, clean and clear, no missing parts, light creases, no rips, no blemishes, only some wear in edges and more evident in corners, no seam splits, no marks of any kind, only very light ring marks mostly evident in the pictures because of the light. The record is in superb EX or EX+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, only minimal scuffs and hairlines hard to see, which don’t affect sound at all. Labels on both sides are in absolute NM or NM+ condition, clean and clear, no writings, no marks of any kind, only very minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is in EX- or EX condition, loud, clear and clear, no background noise at all (background noise was normal in most of records pressed in Chile), only some occasional crackles here and there, hard to hear if you are not looking for them, but softly evident in the song “Picture This” and the silent parts, which of course don’t cause any major distraction from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end, most of songs play in absolute EX condition and I’d recommend a deep vacuum cleaning. Overall a 35 years old record which has the evidence to have been played few times and with great care, still with a brand new-like glossy look and great sound quality which will delight anyone from the beginning to the end. And keep in mind the UNIQUE COVER, the UNIQUE GREEN CHRYSALIS LABELS and the MISPRINT!!! Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! WOW!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the cover and labels in detail.

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

_________________________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

PAYMENT

PayPal (send me a message if you offer some other way to pay that we can accept)

Payment must be received within the first 7 seven days after the auction is ended

If you pay via PayPal and PayPal holds the money (with status “Completed – Funds Not Yet Available” in my PayPal account), I will consider the items paid when funds are available in my PayPal account (this could happen after 21 days buyer paid in accord to PayPal policies). If you don’t want to take the risk to have to wait those 21 days please wait for my invoice and instructions.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

In the case PayPal informs me the funds are “PENDING” in my account, the record will be shipped immediately after PayPal releases the payment and funds are available. Please, remember that in my auctions the buyer pays for shipping and if the money isn’t available in my PayPal account I can’t ship the records. I know this could be an inconvenient, but I hope you can understand that PayPal places on hold the money, not me.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.

In the case PayPal has placed on hold the payment, feedback will be left when buyer has received the record and expressed his/her satisfaction with a possitive feedback.

IMPORTANT TO READ

We are not responsible for all the taxes, duties, fees you could have to pay in your country, but I always declare the records as gift.

If you have some doubt or question feel free to contact us, we will be glad to answer all that you want to know about this item.

The new policy of PayPal informed to me to place on hold the payments:

Your transactions are placed on hold as we are unable to confirm that the items have been shipped. We encourage you to provide tracking numbers for the items you are shipping to protect you as a seller through PayPal’s Seller Protection Policy. This hold is implemented to all eBay sites. This is part of the security measures to help buyers and sellers have successful business transactions.”

“I would like to assure you that this hold placed on your payments is an additional measure taken by eBay and PayPal to protect you as a seller. Both your eBay and PayPal accounts are being reviewed regularly to see how we can further help you maintain successful transactions and good reputation for your seller account.”

THIS NEW POLICY IS AGAINST BUYERS AND SELLERS!!!

Buyers pay for shipping in my auctions, so it’s obvious that if money is placed on hold the seller (me) won’t have that money available to ship the items. What kind of help is that? Buyers deserve respect and I don’t see how to place on hold the payments will help to “maintain successful transactions”… My buyers and me don’t need that kind of help!!! The comments I get prove the quality of the records I sell and the satisfaction of my buyers with the service I give. I hope you can understand that I try to give all the satisfaction possible and records are sent when payments are available in my PayPal account but if PayPal decides to place on hold your payment and the money you pay for shipping, then it’s PayPal the responsible for the extra delay of 21 days, NOT ME.
