This wild and weird collection of experimental music came out in the 70's along with the wave of punk and new wave music being released at the time. Features an excellent drawing on the cover by Don Van Vliet (Capt. Beefheart), and also a rare track by The Residents ("Whoopy Snorp").

The iconic compilation from the abstract world of the Los Angeles Free Music Society (LAFMS), complete with faux naive artwork by none other than Don Van Vliet. All the usual combinations of LAFMS members are here, plus an exclusive track from none other than The Residents, from during the height of their creative summer.

It may have been 1977, but you won't find any Punk Rock on here; having said that, you won't find any Punk Rock as Punk Rock as this either. The boundaries of the definition of music are stretched like the loose elastic of Meat Loafs sweaty underpants. So much so, that when The Residents track appears, they sound like Top Ten material......which of course they should have been?

Blorp Esette is the first appearance of The Residents on a label other than Ralph Records. It was compiled by the Los Angeles Free Music Society, a small group of avant-gardists,who produce occasional albums and singles of varying quality. Whoopy Snorp (here misspelled as Whoopy Snort) was recorded by the Residents especially for this project and donated to LAFMS. Later the song was also released on The Residents Radio Special cassette and Residue album.

COMBINED POSTAGE FOR DIFFERENT FORMATS will be invoiced at my discretion:

While I am happy to combine (for example) one or two 7” singles into one package with 12” records, sometimes it isn’t practical (like if you want me to combine one 12” record with three or more 7” records). I do not think that these combinations can be packaged together safely and securely. Therefore these will be invoiced separately as two packages.

I am sorry to have to introduce these measures – I always try to be patient and allow buyers to bid on extra auctions and / or delay payment.
