BLUE CHEER – “OutsideInside” (1968) Philips600-278 original pressing VG/VG+ (cover/record)
Their second album and the follow up to their loud and proud hard rock power trip debut “Vincebus Eruptum”. This is the last recording by the group in their original power trip form that featured guitarist extraordinaire Leigh Stephens. This release finds the group no less loud, but definitely more polished with multiple overdubs and a refinement of the recording process. There is still great wah-wah and heavy beating drums, but it’s a little more thoughtful if you can describe this kind of music as such. It’s great psychedelicized blues rock by was might accurately be described as the U.S.’s loudest band. Cool die-cut fold open cover too.
This is an original copy. The cover has some minor water exposure with some small tears inside the flip open gatefold and some residue from another adjacent record cover being stuck on the back. There’s not much actual cover wear, but there is a 5-inch split in the center of the spine. With some careful personal conservation, you could probably remove a good bit of it with goo-gone if you wanted to. It doesn’t reek of mildew or anything and isn’t really dirty. They vinyl is clean but does have some light scuffs that cause a little crackle, but this is so loud, you don’t hear much of it when it plays. It’s not bad. Conservative grading: VG/VG+ (cover/record).

I package all LPs securely in record mailers and remove the vinyl from the covers to prevent seam splits during mailing. I do not just stick your record in a priority mailer box from the post office or between two thin pieces of cardboard with no additional packaging materials like so many others!!!
