Description

For auction is BLUE MITCHELL's "Out of the Blue," on Riverside RLP 12-293, MONO, DG, "Spectrosonic," 1959. With Benny Golson, Paul Chambers, Sam Jones, Wynton Kelly, Art Blakey.

SOUND: VG+ or better

It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. Overall the playback is beautiful! Sounds wonderful! The only reason I didn't rate it higher: a couple random pops on side 2. Not loud, and not distracting, but they are there.

VINYL: VG+ or better

Visually, the vinyl is very nice. Nothing to report other than routine wear, very faint marks, nothing to worry about. On blue "mike-and-reel" with deep grooves both sides.

COVER: VG+ or better

The cover is lovely. All the edges are solid and the corners are pretty good, with just slight softening. The front is a glossy cover, and looks very, very nice. The back is pretty clean, just a couple of smudges.  There are a couple of wrinkles in the paper, see the pics. Has a "promo" stamp on the top.

The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.

A terrific record! No reserve, bidding starts at $20.

Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.

Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.

If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material.  Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
