BLUE MITCHELL QUINTET “Down With It!” RVG, DG, P, Blue Note BST 84214 Stereo Vinyl
This is 1965, first edition, “VAN GELDER” stamped, “P” pressing of BLUE MITCHELL QUINTET’s “Down With It!” on the Stereo “New York USA” labels of Blue Note BST 84214. Musicians include Blue Mitchell – trumpet, Junior Cook – tenor saxophone, Chick Corea – piano, Gene Taylor – bass, Al Foster – drums.
VINYL plays very well, light surface noise, occasional pops or ticks. Ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. No distortion. No skips. Good gloss. Vinyl clean with a few none-feelable hairline marks. The “New York USA” labels are clean, with spindle wear. See photos.
COVER is in good shape. Corners worn. Spine and seams in good shape with some minor cracking or wear. Green “STEREO DISC” sticker. Small ½” split at top and bottom seams at opening. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS. INC, 43 West 61st St., New York 23” back jacket shows aging, but mostly clean. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
