ART BLAKEY'S "JAZZ MESSENGERS" PERFORMED A SUPERB SESSION LIVE AT THE CAFE BOHEMIA (VOL 1), THAT TO THIS DAY JUST FLAT OUT SMOKES! IT WAS HERE THAT KENNY DORHAM, HANK MOBLEY, HORACE SILVER AND DOUG WATKINS JOINED UP WITH ART. WE ARE LUCKY IT WAS RECORDED, AND TO THIS DAY IS AMONG THE BEST BOP LP'S EVER!
LP IS A LEXINGTON LABEL DG MONO WITH WITH RVG AND EAR IN RUNOUT. BEAUTIFUL VG TO VG+. I PLAY GRADED THIS WITH MY MONO CART. FIDELITY IS OUTSTANDING. LIGHT BACKGROUND AT TIMES, BUT NOT MUCH, IN FACT BARELY AUDIBLE MOST OF THE TIME. THIS LP PLAYS WONDERFULLY. A FEW LIGHT HAIRLINES AND LIGHT SCRATCHES THAT ARE NOT FEELABLE. JACKET IS STUNNING NM-. BEAUTIFUL MUSIC.
All of my lps are packed in LP mailers well sandwiched with the lp outside the jacket.

Lp's are play graded on my VPI HRX using either a Van Den Hull XGW or a Mono Titan from Lyra. Mono cartridges play mono lps differently than stereo.
