Description

Blue Note BLP 1521 … Original purple “Bird Cover” designed by Reid Miles and drawn by George Wright. Photo by Francis Wolff. The Art Blakey Quintet, A Night at Birdland, Volume 1. With Clifford Brown, Lou Donaldson, Horace Silver, Curly Russell and the amazing Art Blakey … and with the famous announcements from Pee-Wee Marquette! Deep Groove, flat-edge, 161 Lexington Avenue address, RVG and “ear” in the dead wax, no “r”. LP looks great … Labels are clean (smudge on side 2), some light scuffs or light scratches … nothing deep. A small needle drop on track two, side one. Solid copy. VG+ The cover has some flaking on the edges. The spine and top seam are intact. Bottom seam is starting to split, but will not get any worse if you keep the lp out of the jacket … which is how it has been stored and will be shipped. Back has no writing.
