This is a really gorgeous copy of this mega scarce, very desirable BLUE NOTE album, LEE MORGAN "CITY LIGHTS", with LEE MORGAN,TRUMPET, CURTIS FULLER,TROMBONE, GEORGE COLEMAN, ALTO AND TENOR SAX, RAY BRYANT, PIANO, PAUL CHAMBERS,BASS, and ART TAYLOR,DRUMS. talk about an ALL STAR LINEUP...This is quintessential hard swinging early 50's BLUE NOTE JAZZ at its best!

This LP was released in the mid 50's, and this is probably a 2nd pressing from the late 50s. It features the well known Blue and White label. This is a 2nd pressing, so note not deep groove, but try finding a deep groove of this LP, and if one is listed here on E-Bay, it never sells for less than 800-900 dollars. This LP features the 47 W. 63rd NYC address. No "R" or "INC". The run out groove has the Rudy Van Gelder stamp, as well as the matrix BN LP 1575 A(and B) hand etched in the run out grooves. The labels are clean, with very slight spindle marks.
The LP itself is the thick, medium heavy vinyl associated with these late 50s, non deep groove pressings. This LP is in very conservatively rated MINT/MINT MINUS condition, with clean, bright playing surfaces. No significant marks. NO feel-able scratches at all. This LP is really in outstanding condition. Looks as though its barely been played. The sound is beautiful...that classic, gorgeous, rich Blue Note sound, but of course, there will be an occasional pop or click. This is a 60 year old record, and its not absolutely flawless. Its all about the music, and this LP plays great! Ive been advised by a friend who is a very experienced seller to be very conservative on my ratings, as Im an avid collector, but a relatively new "seller".The classic HIGH GLOSS LAMINATED cover is in VG++ condition, with tiny split (about 1/2 inch) at top right opening, with a tiny piece of glossy clear tape, and this actually matches the incredible HIGH GLOSS of the laminate, so its virtually un-noticeable. There is a slight marker line on the back, see pic. The LP has a solid spine and top and bottom seams, and moderate shelf wear for an album that is close to 60 years old. The cover is beautiful! The distinctive graphics, and Francis Wolff photo, are sharp and clear.

I am a Jazz Pianist and Recording Artist, and have been collecting Rare Jazz LPs for many years. This is one from my personal collection. I assure you, all the LPs I will be offering here have been meticulously taken care of, and only played rarely, on a Sota Sapphire Turntable, with a Grado Reference Cartridge. They have been kept inside a temperature controlled room in my home, in plastic dust jackets. In other words, you can bid in confidence, knowing these LPs come from someone who has loved them and babied them. I reluctantly am beginning to sell some of my LPs, and hope they go to someone who will love them as I have.

All LPs will be carefully packed in strong, proper LP boxes, well protected, and sent USPS PRIORITY MAIL or EXPRESS MAIL so proper tracking is available. Media Rate for domestic shipments is available, but not recommended. For overseas buyers, ( Europe, Asia, Australia, South America, etc) we recommend EXPRESS MAIL, or REGISTERED MAIL for proper tracking. We keep very close watch on all shipments through United States Post Office and Customs. Shipping costs are always based on your location. Please note the apparent light spots at top of cover in the picture is LIGHT relecting. The top seam is absolutely SOLID, except the tiny(1/2 ") split, repaired w/ high gloss clear tape that matches the gloss of the laminate. The COVER is VG+++.
