BLUES FROM MAXWELL STREET - Blind Arvella Grey etc. - Heritage 1004 **RARE**
Here's an original rare blues album on Tony Standish's Heritage label. One of only 99 copies.
Chicago blues recordings of Maxwell Street musicians Blind Arvella Grey, King David, Daddy Stovepipe & Blind James Brewer. Recorded by Bjorn Englund & Donald R Hill in July 1960.
The heavy cardboard sleeve is only G. The spine is split nearly all the way and the corners have been dinked. There's a name stamp on the front. I've no idea where the record was previously stored but, as can be seen from the photos, an insect has left trails where it has munched its way through the surface of the front & rear. Very strange!
The record is VG. The labels are clean and the vinyl has a few surface blemishes. No obvious scratches but it plays through with some moderate background crackle so it might benefit from a good clean.
Included is the original 8-page insert. It too has a few bug trails and has brown foxing throughout.
Unfortunately not a mint copy but still a reasonable one. Try finding another!
