ULTRA RARE BLUES RECORD – JOE HILL LOUIS – VENDOR 101 - 45 RPM
Item Description
This is Joe Hill Louis (as Les Vendor) on Vendor 101 – 45 rpm. This label was owned and operated by the Canale family of Memphis, TN for use in its jukebox and vending machine business. This record is extremely rare. There are 4, possibly 5, known copies to exist. The record grades a strong VG (6.5 on a 1 – 10 scale). Previous owner has attempted to "clean" the record for display by various methods; light polishing, erasing of marks / blemishes. The audio is very good, no noticeable distractions. Dead wax etchings read: 45-100-A 404 (Goin’ Away Baby – not Goin’ Away Blues, taped over title) & 45-100-AA 404 (Just Plain Tired). Both sides of this record are exceptionally good recordings, some of his best. Note: All other copies have similar label imperfections, probably caused by the private pressing by Plastic Products in Memphis and Canale family or employees. This record was obtained from the Memphis Blues Museum when the business was closed and its contents were auctioned and / or sold off.

The record IS a private pressing.
The reissue is a much thinner wax, this wax is thick.
