PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER).  OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.


MEGA RARE original Pitman first pressing of this big 5 LP box set from 1985 with alternate layout on the rear of the box (TWO columns at the bottom, not one), ALL original poly-lined glossy printed inner sleeves, removable box top (NOT hinged) and huge full color 35-page booklet insert!!!  LPs are a gorgeous near mint minus with the exception of side 2, which is a beautiful VG++, and side 3 & 4, which are VG+/VG++ with a few light scuffs.  Cover has a split on the bottom corners on the box top only and barely a hint of wear on the rear.  Auction also includes an ULTRA RARE original rigid one-sided 12 X 12 in-store promotional display put out by CBS records in 1985 featuring the album cover art and a small copyright date in the bottom right hand corner!!!  I bought this from a former Tower Records (R.I.P) manager who was a big Dylan fan and decided to rescue this one from the Tower wall for her own private collection (which was staggeringly impressive).  She told me that 99% of these displays were either tossed after they were displayed or never displayed at all and then tossed.  Tower staff saw them as disposable swag and clutter and as a result very few survived from the 1980s.  This one is pristine with NO staple or pin holes, peel spots, creases, tears or bends.  These are the kinds of rarities Dylan fans are going to be fighting over fiercely in the very near future so don't sleep.  You will never see another lot like this again.
