"Bob Dylan"....
When this was first issued in 1962,CBS records were pressed and distributed by Philips..In 1964,CBS purchased Oriole Records which gave them their own pressing and distribution in the UK....While this copy looks like an original 1962 press,it does in fact date from 1964...(No cat number under the CBS logo on the front and "A"/"B" replacing the "L" on the labels being the main identifiers of A CBS pressing)...
Issued by CBS in 1964...BPG 6022...UK pressing in Mono..Front laminated Garrod And Lofthouse sleeve with full flipbacks...Textured labels...The matrix numbers are 1A1/1B1...The run out grooves also show the following:..Side1: O B4....Side 2: B7...I can't provide any info of the significance of these stamped numbers!....
The record looks VG as both sides have some light hairlines...None of which are serious...A play grade reveals a really nice surprise (I had expected a few light clicks!)...But NO!...Both sides play perfectly with no clicks,pops or crackle...No skips,jumps or loops...It's not dished or warped...(Played with a Shure cart tracking at 2g)....
The labels are clean and undamaged...There are some spindle trails,but they are not excessive...
The front of the sleeve is really clean with just light wear to the edges and corners and a couple of very small laminate creases..The spine has a couple of small bumps (on the front edge of the spine),otherwise the spine is unbroken and undamaged...The non laminated back has some light ageing (not heavy yellowing as is often found on albums of this vintage)...The flipbacks are slightly grubby but remain undamaged....The corners are slightly worn....The sleeve is not quite flat (I only noticed this when I took the picture of the spine)..The sleeve is slightly curved...
