"Bob Dylan hired a full rock & roll band, featuring guitarist Michael Bloomfield, for Highway 61 Revisited. Opening with the epic "Like a Rolling Stone," Highway 61 Revisited careens through nine songs that range from reflective folk-rock ("Desolation Row") and blues ("It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry") to flat-out garage rock ("Tombstone Blues," "From a Buick 6," "Highway 61 Revisited"). Dylan had not only changed his sound, but his persona, trading the folk troubadour for a streetwise, cynical hipster. Throughout the album, he embraces druggy, surreal imagery, which can either have a sense of menace or beauty, and the music reflects that, jumping between soothing melodies to hard, bluesy rock. And that is the most revolutionary thing about Highway 61 Revisited — it proved that rock & roll needn't be collegiate and tame in order to be literate, poetic, and complex."

CONDITION OF THE RECORD (LP was 'play-graded):
(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, we grade ALL records under a strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight).
- WE GRADE THE VINYL AS STRONG VG+. The original luster is very much in tact, and the vinyl is beautiful. CAUTION>A SLIGHT warp on dead-wax (beginning edge of record) DOES NOT AFFECT beginning of play, either side (a slight whoosh is heard in beginning dead-wax, NOT in audio portion of cut 1, either side. A few very light, faint surface hair-like marks/scratches are seen, both sides, and that's ONLY UNDER A LIGHT (a couple may be longer than 1.14 inch; 1 inch = 2.5 centimeters). They DO NOT AFFECT PLAY. Only the beautiful quality of the music comes through.
- The record is pressed on a beautiful high quality, thick, inflexible vinyl, which is used for the first or very first early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, bright and rich in quality.
- The original luster is very much intact, the vinyl shines almost like new.

THE COVER IS VERY NICE; GRADED STRONG VG+

- Cover shows some 'graying' probably from storage over the years. On a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and 10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of 'graying' wear as a 2>.
