Description
BOB DYLAN – LIKE A ROLLING STONE (Part I / Part II) - Columbia RED VINYL WHITE LABEL PROMO JZSP 110940 (U.S. 45 rpm Mono). Disc is VG++ (handwritten name (“Alton”) on both sides – see photos); Labels are VG+ due to the writing (would be Near Mint without it).
This is the Split Timing Promo Version of Like A Rolling Stone, PRESSED ON RED VINYL WITH A WHITE PROMO LABEL, timed at 3:02 for each side. Both sides combined feature the full 6 minute version with fade out/fade in mixes to end and begin each side. Thinking that no radio station would ever play a 6 minute song in its entirely in 1965, Columbia Records’ Promotional Department elected to offer DJs this split version should they elect to play a truncated fashion. It backfired and radio stations did indeed play the full 6 minute version which was also released as a White Label Promo. This split timing version is rare for that reason and also because it’s pressed on Red Vinyl. All vinyl records from VinylKing46 (eBay’s ORIGINAL VINYLKING) are pre-cleaned and inserted into paper inner sleeves before mailing to Buyer (unless factory sealed). Discs are packaged separately from sleeves to protect against seam splitting. Sleeves are inserted into mylar outer sleeves and both disc and sleeve are shipped in 7” EP/45-specific boxes and packed with bubble wrap or hard cardboard.
I grade conservatively and by Goldmine standards.
