Critics and fans didn't know what to make of this easy-going album of mostly covers, plus some live cuts from Dylan's recent Isle of Wight Festival appearance with The Band, when this two-record set came out in 1970.  But the performances are heartfelt, the sound is gorgeous, and the album has only only gotten better with age.
The musicians include an eclectic collection of stalwart Nashville session hands and some other notable names, including David Bromberg, Norman Blake, Charlie Daniels, Doug Kershaw, Al Kooper, and Maeretha Stewart.

This original reel-to-reel copy is in wonderful condition.  It includes a generous length of leader tape and an unusual, heavier-duty plastic reel which, along with the label, is near-mint.  The album box is also in excellent shape, with just a few tiny, scattered bits of wear but otherwise clean, smooth and perfectly intact.
