Description
UK FIRST PRESSING DOUBLE VINYL LP IN "Interpak II by Shorewood Packaging/Printed in Holland" GATEFOLD WITH STICKER AND ORIGINAL WHITE INNERS.
After Blood on the Tracks, Dylan authorised the belated release of tracks from the 1967 home recording sessions with The Band in the basement of Big Pink, many of which had been available as the Great White Wonder bootleg and/or recorded by other artists already.
This was the first UK Dylan album to have the orange/yellow 1970s style CBS labels. The discs are ordered: Record 1 has Sides 1 and 4, while Record 2 has Sides 2 and 3. This arrangement was common at this time to work with "multichanger" record players. This is the only UK two record Dylan set known to have this arrangement. There is known to exist, but we have never seen one other than in photos, first pressing copies on the earlier style of plain orange CBS labels. This is extremely rare, only a small number of copies can have been made before the label style was changed because copies bought on the day of release all seem to have had the orange/yellow labels. Dylan-discographies think it was likely pressed in the UK for the Spanish market.
MATRIX NUMBERS IN RUN-OFF GROOVES: CBS S 88147-A1 80917-A1 / CBS-S-88147-B1 80917-B1 / CBS-S-88147-C1 80918-A1 / CBS-S-88147-D1 80918-B1
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT MINUS, JUST LIGHT SHELF AND EDGE WEAR, TWO MINOR CREASE MARKS. INNERS ARE EXCELLENT.
DISCS: EXCELLENT. CLEAN VINYLS WITH NO MARKS OR SCRATCHES AND NO NOTICEABLE SPINDLE WEAR. This is a keeper copy that you are never likely to need to upgrade.
