On offer here is a mega rare1973 first pressing of The Wailers LP 'Catch A Fire'.lThis is the ultra rare very first pressing with the famous 'Zippo' sleeve on the pink rim Island label!!!! This ultra rare first pressing is almost impossible to find in any condition let alone in this excellent condition!!! This copy is in fantastic condition for its age with no major defects!!!!!! Most copies of this record turn up for sale in very worn condition and virtually unplayable and nearly always have the top section torn off or damaged - not this one - a cherished album from my personal collection.This unique sleeve is fully intact and the critical 'hinge' still works perfectly.

Sleeve Unlaminated top opening 'Zippo' sleeve printed by Robor Ltd in VG plus condition!!! A clever piece of design and production this sleeve (designed by Rod Dyer and Bob Weiner) and one of the few album sleeves with radius corners. A truly stunning example with strong colour, perfectly flat with no fading. No writing or marks, just a crease about half inch in from right hand side on front running top to bottom not detrimental to the overall appearance.Tips of flames on die cut slightly burred. Some rubbing to corners and right hand seam which again does not detract from the overall excellent appearance and a very small crease on hinge by stud on back - Spine (which is at the top of the top hinge section) in excellent condition all type legible and undamaged - see photograph. Incredible to think that 33 years have left hardly any serious marks on this incredible collectors item!!!!!!!

Labels Ultra rare original Island pink rim labels are in Ex plus condition !!!! Strong colour, no fading. a few light spindle marks, no writing and just a few very light water marks on the A side, hardly noticeable except on close inspection.

Vinyl Ex minus Condition Perfectly flat and still with it's original 'just pressed' sheen -Just a few light surface marks.

Sound Album has had some play so there is slight surface noise throughout. Loudest on track one side 2 'Stir It Up'.No jumps, clicks or pops and hardly any groove wear!!!!! strong sound with no distortion!!!!. Overall excellent sound!!!!

Liner VG Condition Standard paper liner with some creases and a small coffee stain.

So what we have here is a massive Bob Marley and the Wailers rarity containing their best work along with 'Burnin" (a brilliant first pressing of this mega rarity is also up for grabs this week - see my other auctions for details.)

This is most definitely one for the serious collector!!! The chances of finding another first press of the album are very slim - in any kind of decent condition very remote. Original first pressings of 'Catch A Fire' are total gold dust in any condition!!!!. Believe me you will not want to miss this mega rare opportunity to own this stunning unique Wailers classic. Surely the Holy Grail of Bob Marley / Wailers albums!!!!!!
