original Jamaican reggae picture sleeve UK single produced by BMW & Alex Sadkin: Bob Marley & The Wailers "Zimbabwe" / "Survival" (Island Records)

'MAJORITY RULES OK'

The original picture sleeve single release around the time of Zimbabwe's independence with Zimbabwe leader Robert Mugabe raising his clenched fist for Bob Marley's songs "Zimbabwe" & "Survival" from his SURVIVAL album. This is the original release from 1979 with the slogan 'MAJORITY RULES OK' printed on both sides of the label and on the cover. Backside picture sleeve features a classic Adrian Boot photo of Bob from the same time. Mugabe photo is credited to the Associated Press. "Zimbabwe" is timed at 3:50 while "Survival" is 4:00 minutes.

The ORIGINAL UK vinyl is in mint condition with no skips, no scratch, no surface noise and no warp. Slick picture sleeve is printed on stiff stock and is in VG+ shape. It has no seam splits, no disc imprints, one corner bend (see photo). No handwriting anywhere. Recorded in Jamaica. Numbered WIP 6597 A & B.
