BOLT THROWER
“MERCENARY” LP ACETATE
ONE OF A KIND METAL ACETATE
THIS IS THE ONLY COPY IN EXISTENCE!!!
Label: METAL BLADE (3984-14147-1)
CONDITION: Played once during the mastering process for reference. The disc shows faint paper sleeve scuffs that do not effect play whatsoever. I would rate the disc Near Mint as this does show some extremely faint marks but I can guarantee you that this item was only played once in the mastering studio. The labels are crisp and clean. The outer jacket is mint.
When Bolt Thrower’s “Mercenary” was remastered and reissued by Metal Blade in 2011, this acetate of the album was made for personal reference by Complete Mastering who remastered the album. Essentially this acetate was made as a means to test the audio levels.
The other lacquer disc was sent off to be manufactured into the metal stampers that produced the LPs. This was only played once in the studio to check that the remastering process was going as planned. This acetate was in storage and was obtained from Complete Mastering. This has handwritten labels with the release name and the catalog number.
The matrix reads: 3984-14147-1A & 3984-14147-1B.
This acetate is 100% original and legit.
This is the only copy in existence and you’ll never see this item again.
I’m unsure if this acetate features a different mix or anything unique as I have never played this. I suppose it’s possible as acetates sometimes feature different (or earlier) mastering techniques but I cannot say for sure.
