Description
On offer is a lot of 3 LPs by the group Boston -- their debut self-titled album and their second, Don't Look Back, both on the Epic label and Third Stage on the MCA label. The second two LP's come in gatefold covers and have special inner sleeves.
The debut album plays great, sounds great -- full and clear. A great listen. The vinyl has much of its original shine and gloss. It has a couple of faint hairlines but these don't seem to affect the sound. Grades Excellent by the Record Collector magazine definition The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality.
The cover has no splits, tears or writing. But there is wear. See photos. I grade it between Excellent and Very Good.
The title track and Side 1 of Don't Look Back play great, sound great. Side 2 plays fine but doesn't sound as good. So overall it will have to grade Very Good -- The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. The last three tracks on Side 2 do not sound as clear as they should, possibly a touch of distortion.
The gatefold cover is in excellent condition. So is the lyric inner sleeve except for a split at the bottom edge.
Third Stage plays great, sounds great -- full and clear. There's a little surface noise in a few quieter parts, nothing serious. So I'll grade it as a strong Very Good. The gatefold cover has no splits, creasing, tears or writing. It does show some wear to edges and corners. Call it Excellent Minus. The lyric inner sleeve, Excellent.
