Description

When Tony Visconti took the tapes back to London   in December 1974 to mix the record, the boxes were marked The Gouster . The track listing was rumoured to be as follows :  John, I’m Only Dancing (Again) / Somebody Up There Likes Me / It’s Gonna Be Me / Who Can I Be Now ? / Can You Hear Me ? / Youg Americans & Right.

Some tracks of this album are presented here (It is more the first stage of mixing ; see notes below) before "final" mix of  The Gouster...(that's why I added quotes to my title) and despite the CD of the 2016 Box which in my opinion is not exactly the mix of Visconti late 74 / early 75 - I'm working on it)

° Recorded at Sigma Sound Studios, Philadelphia sometime between 8th - 23rd August 1974

* Recording was later completed at Sigma Sounds Studios sometime between 20th - 25th November 1974, including the addition of overdubs.

‘’ This version is a stripped-down mix, without some backing vocals and other overdubs.

^ This version doesn’t include the string arrangements that Tony Visconti later booked into Air Studios, London, on 12 th January 1975( ...for the "Young Americans" album).
