THIS COPY IS IN GREAT CONDITION AND SHOWS VERY FEW SIGNS OF EVER ACTUALLY BEING PLAYED
Side One is devoted to primarily instrumental material featuring Brian Auger, while Side Two is far more soul-rock-influenced with vocal tracks spotlighting Julie Driscoll.
It was consistent with the multi-dimensional aesthetic that Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger & the Trinity promoted, but it must have confused and perhaps even put off fans attracted to the act by the hit single "This Wheel's on Fire."
For open-minded pop fans of that time or future eras, however, it's a quite interesting blend of rock, blues, soul, and a little psychedelia.
Auger's own brand of heavily Jimmy Smith-influenced organ soul-jazz dominates the first five tracks -- in fact, "In and Out" is a cover of a tune by Smith's sometime duo partner, guitarist Wes Montgomery.
Vocal soul comes far more to the forefront on the Driscoll-driven songs, and while some of them are credible British blue-eyed soul with prominent organ, the Auger-Driscoll original "A Kind of Love In" and the drawn-out cover of Donovan's "Season of the Witch" move effectively into groovier psychedelic territory.

LABELS: MINT-
Clean, bright and unmarked labels with possibly one/two light spindle traces on one side, none on the other and the spindle hole is still quite tight
VINYL Visual: EXCELLENT++
Practically unmarked under normal light the surfaces display just fine wispy hairiness under bright light
VINYL Audio: EXCELLENT+++
Even though this copy has barely been used it does display a little surface noise on the run-ins and between some of the tracks and a very tiny amount of surface on the quiet piano solo "Lament For Miss Baker" - all of which are incredibly minor otherwise, the playback is flawless.
Marmalade pressings never deliver pristine audio (I have never heard one that does) and in my opinion this is just about as good as it gets. I'm sure this copy plays just as it did on the day it was purchased in 1967
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT+
The fully laminated sleeve is clean, unmarked and solid with no edge or spine wear to speak of and both the front and back surfaces have a deep, deep glossy sheen. There are some light creases to the laminate but nothing major - a very fine example
