Description
A great opportunity to buy a RARE VINYL LP from the 1960's by Brian Bennett called "Change Of Direction".
Featured musicians on this album include Alan Hawkshaw, Jim Sullivan and John Rostill.
This is a U.K. pressing released in November 1967 on the Columbia label (SX 6144)(mono) and has 12 tracks (see photos for track listings).
The matrix numbers in the dead wax are:- XAX 3477-1 (side one) and XAX 3478-1 (side two).
The mother stamper codes next to the labels at 3 o'clock are G (side one) and G (side two). The Tax Codes K and T are embossed on the centre of the side two label.
The vinyl is in a clean and shiny EXCELLENT condition. I always examine and grade records under a bright table lamp and there are several light surface marks evident, but nothing at all serious. I have played the whole of both sides and they play fine and sound great. There is just a hint of surface noise on the run-in groove and first few revolutions of side one. Overall the sound quality is a great example of late 60's mono recordings, having that wonderful depth, which is sadly missing in later stereo pressings.
The labels are clean and free from any writing, stickers or major defects. There are a few light spindle marks on the labels noticeable when tilted towards the light.
The record is flat and has no warps of any description.
The record is housed within its original LP advertising inner sleeve in a VERY GOOD condition considering its age.
The Garrod & Lofthouse front-laminated flipback picture cover is in a lovely clean and shiny EXCELLENT condition.The edges, corners and spine are very strong, with just a hint of handling wear on parts of the opening edge. The printing on the spine is clearly readable (see photo). The back cover is remarkably clean and has remained well preserved over the years.
This is a highly collectable 60's Beat LP and should be of interest to avid collectors.
