British Sea Power (now known simply as Sea Power) dropped their BAFTA-winning score Disco Elysium, composed for the acclaimed role-playing game of the same name, a couple of years ago and it now lands on vinyl. Across 28 tracks and roughly 100 minutes, the album blends ambient and post-rock elements to create an immersive experience and the instrumentation - warm horns, choral textures, and gentle guitars - evoke introspection and emotional depth. Cohesion comes through recurring motifs and subtle melodic development and while some brighter moments briefly shift the tone, the overall flow remains consistent and contemplative. As both a soundtrack and a standalone listen, Disco Elysium is full of refined musicianship.
