DECCA SET 252 WIDE BAND DEEP GROOVE BENJAMIN BRITTEN WAR REQUIEM x 2 VINYL LP BOXED SET WITH LIBRETTO
Bidders may notice that the following grading description is very similar to many other similar 1950’s classical LPs I currently have listed or am going to be listing over the next few weeks. This is due to the almost identical, practically ‘archive’ condition of the entire collection. Do check out my other listings if these are of interest. I am adding records every day.
Sleeve Condition: NEAR MINT: box is in almost ‘as new’ condition, very minor rube to bottom of label, otherwise, sharp corners with no bumping, spine flat and box is perfectly square. The libretto is in perfect, MINT condition.
Record Condition: NEAR MINT: actually, there would be no argument about both records being graded as MINT. I haven’t graded them as such because I have played them but it wouldn’t be a surprise to know that that was the first time either record had seen a turntable. Both are unmarked with an ‘as new’ bloom. Both play flawlessly. It would be impossible to find a set in better condition.

Please note that for items exceeding £50 in value, I charge £4.95 for Next Day Delivery to UK buyers and £5.30 for International Signed For delivery for overseas addresses. This is in addition to the P&P costs quoted in the listing.
This is only one of many similar LPs I have currently listed or will shortly be listing. They are all from a small collection of early classical Decca SXL and EMI ASD Stereo and some Mono LXT and CSD LPs. All are in the most extraordinary, Near Mint condition. It would not be an exaggeration to describe the entire collection as in, ‘archive’ condition. In 25 years of record dealing and over 40 years of collecting myself, I have never come across records so perfectly cared for is almost perfectly preserved inner and outer sleeves.
