BROADSIDE BALLADS VOL. 1 aka "INTRODUCING BROADSIDE" - VARIOUS ARTISTS including BOB DYLAN AS BLIND BOY GRUNT - NEAR MINT!!!
Folkways Records FH 5301, released 1964
This 1964 pressing of the original Folkways release, Broadside Ballads Vol. 1, features Bob Dylan singing "John Brown," "Only A Hobo" and "Talkin' Devil" under the pseudonym "Blind Boy Grunt," plus covers of Dylan's compositions "Blowin' In The Wind" and "I Will Not Go Down Under The Ground" by the New World Singers and Happy Traum, respectively. Other artists represented are Pete Seeger, Mark Spoelstra, Phil Ochs, Peter La Farge, Gil Turner and the Freedom Singers. The album comes with the original Broadside insert featuring notes on the songs, including Dylan's own comments on "Blowin' In The Wind," plus lyrics and music for many of the tracks, among them "Blowin' In The Wind" and "John Brown."
Condition: Record is in BEAUTIFUL condition! Vinyl appears virtually mint with only a couple of light sleeve marks that are barely visible to the naked eye. Labels are perfect and look as fresh as new. Booklet insert is also perfect except for a bit of color around the edges due to age. Textured jacket is in excellent shape, with only some very minor wear at the corners and spine, but otherwise, the whole album looks almost like new!
