Description
"Clifford the Small Red Puppy" from the Scholastic Record & Book Companion Series. Music by Bruce Haack.
Here is a rare complete (record+book+folder/folio) "Clifford the Small Red Puppy" released by Scholastic in 1974. The record consists of music and sounds by Bruce, and narration by Indira Danks. The music consists of 5 different pieces, ranging in style from his groovy lo-fi synth+drum machine sound of the early-70's, to weirder, wilder stuff that sounds like it is from the "Dance Sing and Listen" era. The main theme plays at the beginning for a good amount of time with no narration over it. One of the other pieces is a variation on the main theme that sounds like Bruce is accompanied by the Velvet Underground at the bottom of a swimming pool. All in all, this is great Bruce Haack stuff-- he did not hold back from his usual thing to please Scholastic (Scholastic later released this without Bruce's music). Oh and the sound effects - again, vintage DS&L-era craziness!!!

Packaging:
For this item I will use a sturdy 13"x13" lp mailer, with the folder positioned in the center, so that damage to the corners will not occur. All components (record, book, folder) will be packaged so that nothing gets damaged. Basically I will package the lp the same way I would want it packaged if I were the buyer!
Grading:
Per Goldmine standards. I will not use the vague "EX" grade. I will use "M" if something actually appears perfect (it does happen, though rarely). I grade under a bright bulb while wearing +3.5x reading glasses, so I see everything. In my opinion, "Sealed" can be a record grade, but is NOT a legitimate cover grade. Cover defects will be noted, even if sealed.
