Description
This is a true 1st pressing "TEST PRESSING" from 1975. There is a different font used on the front cover art. Other info like song titles, etc. are not printed on this gatefold cover. Only the albums' artist and title. The back of the cover has no wording at all! The spine is in fantastic shape and there are no seam splits! The cover does have ring wear, edge wear and a couple of small corner dings. Nobody has written anything on it! You can see by my store bought copy, also in the photo, that the inside picture of Bruce is much larger in the PROMO album. Also no UPC bar code or lyrics and they use a handwritten script for the song titles.
The record itself is a real beauty as you can see by the photos. Look at those MINT LABELS! NO spindle marks and the vinyl hardly looks like it has been played. It plays like a dream! DEADWAX INFO: Side one: P AL-33795 -1A and Side two: P BL-33795 -1A. This is a true first pressing from Columbia. According to "BACKSTREETS" the book this is a PROMO sent out to radio stations and "a few industry types." They also note that the script cover version "has since gone on to become one of the rarest Springsteen items ever!" This classic album is listed at #17 on the top 100 albums of all time!
