VOIR aka VASY-VOIR / FOUR PAUL S ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by BRUSSELS ART QUINTET. Original Belgium private pressing on the BAQ (S001) label, from 1969. Holy grail, modal / spiritual jazz double-sider from the Belgian jazz underground. Both themes are outstanding and feature legendary sax player, Babs Robert (before he recorded his now infamous Love Planet session) and other key players like Daniel Schell who later formed funk fusion group, Cos. VASY-VOIR is the moody and deep modal waltz side with beautiful rhythms and sophisticated euro jazz atmospheres. FOUR PAUL S is slightly more complex, in a more funky / contemporary hard bop cum lyrical free jazz setting. Both sides have the stunning vibraphone sound of Jean-Pierre Destree too. In certain artistic circles, this recording is also referred to as Clitarabelles, the title of an obscure Marcel & Gabriel Piqueray poem (with lyrics) detailed on the back sleeve. Micro press run, rumoured to be no more than 100 copies pressed. A must for the jazz connoisseur. 3-prong centre intact. Avantgarde / experimental sleeve artwork by Serge Vandercam. Very rare 45!!!

Vinyl is in shiny M- condition with a few hairlines from storage. Some light surface noises. Taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played once for the recording of the soundclip. The laminated picture sleeve is in M- condition with minimal wear. Top right corner of back sleeve has one tiny laminate chip, otherwise near perfect. Very rare 45!!!
