Description

BUDDY GUY LP A MAN AND THE BLUES 1968, on the US VANGUARD LABEL.  CAT#VSD79272.   This LP is a STEREO COPY.   Buddy Guy burst out in 1968 with his first 3 LPs, all released in 1968, and this was one of them.  It was the tail end of the blues revival in the US as American fans of the genre mostly abandoned the original artists in favor of the Britt invasion bands and American artists that abducted the genre, and took it in new directions. Bands like The Animals, Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers, and The Doors would be turning into the flavor of the month around the time these LPs were released.  And at a time that Jimi Hendrix was a total sensation, Buddy Guy should have been selling more LPs.  This one has the grooviest cover, and yet it remains a niche record.  But Guy would have a tremendous career with staying power, and his star has risen with his longevity.  This is a super cool early Buddy Guy LP.
COVER  VG  The front has great colors.  there's some smudge wear.  The 2 bottom corners are soft, and the top right corner has a very small ding,  The bottom seam has minimal wear.  The top seam and the spine are very nice. The back cover has some white from rubbing.
VINYL  VG++. A beauty, with full gloss, and no marks at all.  The labels have a few spindle marks. It was carefully played, and kept in wonderful condition.  very nice clean copy of this 1968 pressing.  If it's not the gold Vanguard label with either stereo or stereolab, then it's not an OG pressing from 1968.
