Description
Up for grabs is a highly collectible, authentic 1972 UK first pressing of Budgie’s seminal hard-rock masterpiece, Squawk, released on MCA Records (catalog number MKPS 2023). This is the definitive, original UK issue manufactured by The Decca Record Company Ltd., featuring the famous early-1970s blue and black "Hexagon" center labels that were quickly discontinued on later pressings.For audiophiles and serious collectors, the dead wax on this copy features the ultimate 1L / 1L master lacquer cuts (7-LNMG-261-1L on Side 1 and 7-LNMG-262-1L on Side 2).
These earliest stampers ensure the heaviest, punchiest analog sound possible for Rodger Bain's legendary production.Condition:Vinyl: VG+ overall. Side 2 is beautifully clean with a deep, mirror-like factory gloss, grading at a strong EX. Side 1 retains great gloss but shows a few light, superficial surface hairlines under direct light. It has been play-tested and plays through wonderfully with the high-fidelity audio easily overpowering any faint background wisps.Sleeve: VG+ original gatefold jacket designed by Roger Dean. The artwork remains incredibly vibrant with strong, sharp colors, solid seams, and only very minor shelf and edge wear consistent with its age.
