Description
Buffalo Springfield – Last Time Around
ATCO Records 33-256 / SD 33-256
1968 • U.S. Promotional Copy
Scarce promotional copy of Buffalo Springfield’s third and final studio album, Last Time Around, released in 1968. The album includes material by Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Richie Furay and Jim Messina, including “On the Way Home,” “I Am a Child,” “Questions” and “Kind Woman.”
This copy is especially interesting because it has the white ATCO promotional labels, marked “SAMPLE COPY – NOT FOR SALE,” together with the original bright red “Promotional DJ Copy Monaural – Not For Sale” sticker on the front jacket.
Album is purportedly signed by Jim Messina (twice) and Stephen Stills on the front cover. It come from a deceased collector's estate, so I wasn't able to discuss how the autograph was obtained. The family told the estate executor that he was an autograph hound who traveled to shows in the Washington D.C.- New York corridor to get autographs (mostly after the fact from the mid-1970s - 2000s) and also bought them from record stores. Because I don't know him personally, or his reputation on the secondary market, I am hence selling the autographs as "attributed" to Messina and Stills. I will give the buyer one year to return the item, so they have time to get the autograph checked out if they'd like to.

Collector Note
Last Time Around was released in 1968 after Buffalo Springfield had effectively broken up, with Jim Messina assembling/producing the album from the group's final sessions. It became the band's last original studio LP.
