Description
Due to a change in my work schedule I have not had the time to list any records on ebay for a few months but I'm happy to say I am now back on my old work hours so can now resume selling the last of my brother's collection from his press agency days. These are made up of punk, mod, new wave, glam, psych and indie from the 60's, 70's and 80's and will include promo's, test pressings, overseas releases, signed items and over choice bits. As always nearly all will be in top condition as most have been in storage for 30+ years. I'll be listing every Monday as this proved popular with collectors the last time, so for the next few weeks at least new auctions starting every Monday evening. Good luck and happy bidding!
Very rare original UK issue 7" on the New Hormones label ORG-1 from 1977. The release of God save the queen may have ruffled a lot of feathers in 1977 but for me personally punk was always about the music and this killer 4 track ep was the most exciting release of the year. Full of raw energy, two-note guitar solos and the sinister vocals of Howard Devoto for me has never been bettered. When the Buzzcocks released this they became the first punk band to self-finance and release their own record. A first run of between 700 and 1000 were released and were quickly snapped up prompting the band to release another 15,000. Just 2 weeks after it's release Howard Devoto left the band stating tiredness and ill health but returned in 1978 with his own band Magazine. The ep was later re-issued in 1979 with paper labels and Howard Devoto credited on the front of the sleeve. This is one of the original 1st pressings with plastic moulded labels with 'eat the beat' scratched into the run-off groove on side.1 and 'pulse out' in the run-off groove on side.2. Comes complete with the original Delga picture sleeve with no Howard Devoto credit on the front and features 4 awesome tracks: Breakdown, Time's up, Boredom, Friends of mine. A true piece of punk history and a must have, b'dum, b'dum! Condition sleeve ex (a couple of small age spots), disc ex. Check my others for more!
