Since I acquired this album in the 70's it has been stored away, I have recently played it for the first time and the sound quality is excellent - This is a private pressing from the band. Only 100 were pressed.

Byzantium were part of the early 70's psychedelic/folk rock scene. Between 72/73 they released 2 albums on the A&M record label and here we have a difference of opinion regarding the actual date of issue of this private pressing - most information shown on the web dates it as 1972 with the band going on to release 2 further albums on the A&M record label. Someone I know who was involved with the band at the time remembers date of issue as 1974 after A&M had already released 2 albums, this is also confirmed in 'Record Collectors Guide 2012 which shows the A&M releases as 72/73 and this Live & Studio private pressing (100 only) as 1974.

The vinyl still looks as fresh as when it was first pressed - under strong light I can see a small pin-head size mark (probably made at time of pressing) towards the end of track 1 on the Live side, when the stylus passes over it for a few seconds only I could hear a slight background surface noise which is hardly noticeable.

Sleeve is not laminated, shows slight wear from being stored, top centre front & back cover, can be seen in my pictures, also very slight discolouration on far edges. Plain white inner sleeve.

Album is so good both musically and vocally. I was fortunate enough to see Byzantium play live in the 70's it is a great shame their career as a band was so short lived, they were all exceptionally gifted musicans.
