This is the much sought after Deutsche Grammophon box set of Bach's violin sonatas and partitas.  Performing these solo works is the great Polish-born violinist, Henryk Szeryng.

This set of 3 stereo LP's was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque.

The records are in excellent condition.  The box shows some wear here and there.  This corner is split but doesn't look very bad.  Otherwise, there are no tears.

WHY IS THIS INTERESTING?   From the booklet:

CONDITION   Vinyl: Mint; we decided not to play the records, as they have the clear appearance of not having been used.  Cover: very good condition; edge split noted; some other minor edge wear; other wear here and there; box has very good display quality.  Booklet: very good condition; minor creases by spine (visible in photo).  Other packaging: There is a foam protective insert which is slightly torn and crumbling a little; the record sleeves are in very good condition.

Record grading

M  -  Mint: no scuffs, flaws or wear; perfect vinyl and label.

NM  -  Near mint: very minor scuff on vinyl; plays without any trace of unwanted noise.

VG+  -  Very good plus: more scuffs visible, but record plays without unwanted noise.

VG  -  Very good: still plays quite well, although some minor noise might be audible; visually, record looks to have been played

VG- G+ and G  -  Very good minus, good plus and good:  three gradations of records that play through but have noticeable surface noise.  They do not skip, have recurrent clicks from scratches or have surface noise that overpowers the music.

SALES & SHIPPING INFORMATION

PAYMENT:   We accept payment through PayPal, personal check or money order from domestic customers.  We wait until payment verification or final check processing before shipping.  We accept PayPal only from international customers.

SHIPPING:  We are usually able to ship within 3 days of payment verification.  With rare exceptions, we ship through the United States Postal Service, and we try to offer the most appropriate postage categories.  We make insurance optional on many items and require it for offerings of higher value or for those more susceptible to breakage.  We encourage winning bidders to consider insurance on all items.

COMBINED SHIPPING:  We sometimes specify combined shipping discounts with our listings, but we will offer such discounts in many other cases even when not pre-quoted.  Assuming that multiple items can be appropriately shipped in one box, we begin with the charge for the heaviest item and add between $1 and $3 for extra items depending on weight and additional packing material needed.  The added charge could be more for unusually heavy or large items.  International customers: your combined shipping is different and hard to quote ahead of time, but we will offer discounts whenever possible.

Note: if large lots of records are involved in combined shipping calculations, we will probably have to add more than $3 for multiple purchases, but we are still likely to be able to offer savings on postage.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:  Bidding from international customers is welcome!  We accept PayPal payments only from other countries; we do not accept checks or currency.  As noted above, we will combine shipping for international customers whenever possible and include the savings in our shipping charge.  Because there are so many different international rates, we cannot quote the combined shipping rates ahead of time.  Also, please be aware that we do not mark items as "gifts" or report lower sales values on customs forms.

RETURN POLICY:  We have a 100% satisfaction guaranteed policy!  Returns are accepted for refund within a 7-day period of the receipt of the merchandise.  We will pay return shipping when defects or item characteristics were not properly noted in the original sales listing.  In other cases, the buyer pays return shipping.  Most of our transactions are trouble-free, but we suggest you contact us if a problem does arise so can mutually try to arrive at a satisfactory solution.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The US shipping for this item is coming up as $14.00.  The real charge is $8.00.  I entered that amount and do not know why a different figure is appearing in the listing.  We will send this via Media Mail and double box it for extra protection.  INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS: I think the listing is overstating shipping here, too, maybe by a few dollars.  I will calculate shipping charges to your country if you send me a message before the auction ends.  Also, if you win the acution and pay too much, we will refund the appropriate amount after we ship the item.  We have done this before to be fair to our customers.
