Description
Various Artists - "Back From The Grave" Vinyl LP.
Original 1983 US-issue 16-track Compilation LP on Crypt Records.
This is a genuine original first issue copy of this LP, with red & white front cover and mint green Crypt labels - (Later copies also had a slightly different front cover illustration, as well as a different catalog number and different back cover layout/design).
It includes an unlisted 16th track (which was removed from subsequent pressings) - a cover of The Sonics' "The Witch" by Mono Man & Friends. (Mono Man is Jeff Conolly from legendary Boston garage band The Lyres). Apparently only 500 of these first issue copies were pressed.
Front cover says 17 tracks, Record has 16 tracks, Tracklisting and Liner Notes only list 15 tracks.....
First volume in the acclaimed "Back From The Grave" series of 1960's USA Punk/Garage collections.
Includes The Swamp Rats' wild cover of The Sonics' "Psycho", Larry & The Blue Notes notorious "Night Of The Phantom" (aka "Night Of The Sadist") - plus tracks by The JuJu's, The Rats, and many others.
Informative Liner Notes are printed on the back cover.
Superb, Near-Perfect condition all round (see detailed gradings below).
Hard to find these original 1st issue Vinyl copies now... Here's one which looks pretty much like you bought it brand new from the shop 30 years ago, You simply won't find a better one !

All records are packed outside of their main packaging (in a new plain inner where necessary), to avoid sleeve splits in transit.

I use the UK "Record Collector Magazine" grading system for vinyl.
