Badfinger Straight Up 1st Press Vinyl LP Apple Records Pete Ham Baby Blue VG++.
LP is VG+with a few light scuffs and minor hairline scratches. It plays nice and loud and has excellent sound. Label has initials written on it. The LP was mastered at Sterling Sound by Lee Hulko (LH in dead wax with Sterling stamp) and pressed at Winchester....which I consider amongst the best as far as the quality of vinyl and most clean sounding of the LPs released on Capitol or any of their subsidiaries during the early to mid 70s.
Cover has some wear as most copies of this album do but is solid and has no splits. VG.

Some info on Badfinger and the LP :
"Straight Up" is probably considered the best Badfinger album in their catalog and includes both "Baby Blue" and "Day After Day".
The album was produced by Todd Rundgren. George Harrison had been producer early on in the sessions but left midway through recording with Todd taking over. Much to Todd's annoyance, George's production credits remained on 4 tracks when the album was released including "Day After Day" which ended up being one of Badfinger's biggest hits.
In all fairness, George certainly did contribute a good bit to "Day After Day" but Todd put together the final mix as well as mixing the whole record himself.
Todd took over and encouraged recording the newest songs "Take It All", "Baby Blue" and "Sometimes" as well as re-recording others. The remainder of songs from earlier sessions were either totally reworked and/or remixed by Todd. The new and improved "Straight Up" was finished and mixed in less than 3 weeks once Rundgren coming aboard as producer.
Apparently not everyone in the band enjoyed working with Todd and were somewhat surprised when they heard the final mix. In a good way. They'd made an incredible album! I so wish Todd had been able to fully produce their follow up album "Ass". He produced several songs before parting ways with the band shortly after sessions for "Ass" had gotten underway. However, 2 of the Rundgren produced songs ended up on that album.
Just as a side note.....
I find it interesting that Apple rejected the first version of "Straight Up". Most of us have now heard that rejected version. It's not bad at all....maybe even great. But the powers that be at Apple were right. It became a masterpiece after trying again.
BUT....... Apple had also rejected "No Matter What" as a single a year before this.
Those guys loved to reject Badfinger material almost as much as Mo Austin rejected "Sunflower" from The Beach Boys!!!
Apple were wrong that time for sure. But I guess they have a pretty good track record overall....
