PRE-ORDER RELEASED 30TH SEPTEMBER 2016
BANKS is back with her second full-length album. Since the release of her debut album Goddess in 2014, BANKS has continued to instigate endless commentary. She became the “#1 Most Blogged About Artist Globally – Mid Year & Year End 2014 Charts,” according to Hype Machine, in addition to seizing #1 on Billboard’s Twitter Emerging Artists Chart and Trending Chart. She landed on year-end best albums lists from Rolling Stone, The Guardian, Slant, and many othersThe Altar features 13 new songs, yet again all written and creatively controlled by BANKS. An inspiring confrontation of complicated love, longing, betrayal and self-doubt, it sees BANKS pushing her edges into ever more exhilarating and adventurous territory. Includes the new single “Gemini Feed” and ‘F**k With Myself’ which The Guardian decreed: “this track should equal an automatic promotion to pop’s top tier”, while the Sunday Times described it as “brooding, pulsating electro, like Prince and Janet Jackson at their most minimal”, and NME featured it in its Best New Tracks as “Best To Empower Yourself”.
